Website Use
These Terms apply to your use of the Diro website at https://dirofilms.vercel.app, including joining the waitlist. By using the website, you agree to provide accurate information and use the site only for lawful purposes. The waitlist does not guarantee early access or a specific launch date. Separate terms will apply to the Diro mobile application once it launches. App-specific terms (including subscriptions, accounts, and in-app features) will be provided at that time and may supplement or replace certain website provisions.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Diro mobile application or accessing our website at https://dirofilms.vercel.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Diro.
Description of Service
Diro is a cinema discovery application that helps users search for directors and films, follow favourite directors, explore filmographies, track watch history, rate films, and discover upcoming releases. The service is provided on iOS and Android mobile platforms.
Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address or sign in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Free and Premium Tiers
Diro offers a free tier with usage limits and a Premium subscription with expanded features. Free tier limits include: • 5 favourite directors (10 with Premium — not unlimited) • Limited filmography depth: full directing and writing credits; capped acting/other credits (full catalogue with Premium) • 10 interested directors (unlimited with Premium) • 100 watchlist items (unlimited with Premium) • 100 film ratings (unlimited with Premium) • Home discovery: Starter Packs, Collections, and Mood (Premium adds Style, Themes, Country, and Movements) • Watchlist: Movies tab only (Premium adds Directors grouped view) • Ratings: Films list only (Premium adds Directors aggregate view) Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal are governed by the respective store's terms. You may cancel at any time through your store account settings.
User Content
You may submit film ratings and optional text reviews. You retain ownership of your content but grant Diro a non-exclusive license to store, display, and sync it as part of the service. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes third-party rights.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to: • Use Diro for any unlawful purpose • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service • Circumvent usage limits or premium restrictions • Interfere with the proper functioning of the service
Third-Party Content
Film metadata, images, and watch provider information are sourced from TMDB (The Movie Database). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Third-party streaming availability links may redirect to external services. Diro is not responsible for third-party content or services.
Intellectual Property
Diro, its logo, design, and original content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. TMDB content is subject to TMDB's terms. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our original content without permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Diro is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Film metadata accuracy depends on third-party sources.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your personal data, favourites, watchlist, ratings, and profile will be permanently removed within 30 days.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
